Joseph Lee Bailly was born August 27, 1970 to Ronald R.F. and Noreen K. (Bunde) Bailly in Fort Riley, Kansas. He grew up in Watertown, South Dakota and Germany. During his childhood, he loved cars and racing and wanted to build and fabricate cars. Joe attended Watertown High School until the tenth grade. He received his GED and attended Lake Area Tech for three years. When the Gulf War began Joe wanted to serve his country and joined the United States Navy. He served on the USS Saratoga and was honorable discharged in 1993. Joe was currently working as a mechanic in Wyoming. One of his dreams was to be a race car driver and he also would have loved to race in the World of Outlaw (late model) dirt track series and be remembered as “the best dirt track racer ever, duh!” as his proud daughter, Brooke quoted him! He tried to spend his free time with his children when he could. “Family, tools and puppy dogs” were something Joe could not live without!
Joe enjoyed working on projects with his family, riding his Harley and dirt track racing.
Grateful to have known Joe are his children, Jake L. Bailly of Wright, WY and Brooke N. Bailly of Watertown, SD; his sister, Shari (Carl) Schoeman of Watertown, SD; his father, Ronald Bailly of Watertown, SD; his ex-wives, Clara (Hurley) Bailly and Teresa (Siebrecht) Bailly; and like a brother to Joe, Tony Croninger of Watertown, SD.
Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Paige Marie Bailly; his mother, Noreen Meyer; his maternal grandparents, Otto W. and Martha M. (Bergan) Bunde; and his paternal grandparents, Fredrick J. and Ruth P. (Orris) Bailly.
