Obituary for Donald Frogner
Donald H. Frogner, age 93, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Estelline Nursing & Care Center. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown with Father Paul Rutten as celebrant. Music will be furnished by the Immaculate Conception Funeral Choir accompanied by Helen Gollnick.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2018 at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Burial will be at 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in the Augusta Cemetery, Marietta, MN.
Donald Harold Frogner was born July 10, 1925 to Harold and Mae (Ahartz Drake) Frogner at his parents farm home in Marietta, MN. He attended grade school at Vernon Country School. Donald was united in marriage with Cyrilla Ronke on September 14, 1949 at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Florence. Donald started farming in 1946 on his grandfather's farm at Marietta, MN where they started their married life and lived there for 43 years. Donald retired from farming in 1991 and the couple moved to Watertown, SD. Donald enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, camping and the 28 years they spent their winters in Donna, TX.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Darlene (Curt) Callies of Bloomington, MN; his son-in-law, Duane Croatt of Becker, MN; his sister, Dorothy (Wesley) Griffith of Watertown, SD; his brother, Kenneth Drake of Watertown, SD; three grandchildren, Callie (Jeremy) Smuder, Cassidy (Adam) Chiodo, and Brandon Croatt; and three great grandchildren, Drake, Jaego and Ahnki. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mae; his wife, Cyrilla; his daughter, Donna Croatt; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Cecil Lynde; his brother, Keith Frogner who died at birth, his brother, Stanley Frogner; and his sister-in-law, Mary Drake.
