Obituary for Cathryn Ann Borgen
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown.
CATHRYN BORGEN, age 62 of Watertown, SD, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019, surrounded by her family, at Prairie Lakes Hospital.
Cathryn Ann Borgen was born October 24, 1956 to Art and Karen Borgen at Sisseton, South Dakota Community Hospital. She grew up on her family’s ranch near Veblen, South Dakota, working in the fields, riding horses, raising animals, and gardening.
She had a heart of gold and truly loved working with people and people truly loved working with her. She touched so many lives through her work and her volunteer activities. Serving people was her gift. She had a natural talent of lifting others up.
She loved gardening, spending time in nature, spending time with her grandchildren and meeting new people.
She is survived by her mother, Karen Borgen; her two daughters, Melissa Meidinger and Christine Moshier ( Travis Kellar); her two brothers, Russell (Wendy) Borgen and Michael Borgen; her sister, Diane (Dave) Kinney; and her six grandchildren, Destiny, Jasmine, Ty, Nathaniel, Bo and Jac.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Borgen; and brother, Wayne Borgen.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2pm, Friday, March 22, 2019 at Lutheran Church of our Redeemer in Watertown, South Dakota. Reverend Dan Ofstehage will officiate with music by Cathryn's brother, Michael Borgen.
